IDCABASA SUMMONS CHARLES GRANVILLE

I have worked with a few producers; I always enjoy working with Bralou (PH based producer), TeeYmix is another awesome producer and after working with him on my hit single By My Side, my respect for him has greatly increased! K-solo has produced more than six tracks for me and I can't seem to get enough of the hit maker and recently, I was invited to feature on a track by OMOBABA (comedian) which Ksolo produced and once again I realized how blessed I am to be working with such great men!

I met Idcabasa recently and he got a feel of my music. He gave very great reviews and since then has been very supportive of all things Charles Granville. Still I was very surprised when he called me to ask if I can add my voice on a track he was working on and I said ok.

Today and for the first time, I visited his very famous studio and we worked on his song. I know for sure that great things will come out of it. I cannot wait for the song to be finished and for everyone to have a feel of it. I know you will love it!

Moving to Lagos

Everybody wants to move to Lagos! It seems its the place to be! I never thought I'll join the numbers until I found myself visiting Lagos constantly for the past months. I am now more in Lagos than in Warri or Port Harcourt.  My new role as the Leader of Gospel artists has made it nearly impossible for me to be anywhere else if I wish to see the success of my visions.

However, getting an apartment in Lagos has proved to be one of the most difficult challenges I have encountered. The houses I've seen are quite old, unkept and yet very expensive. How can you ask me to pay N700,000 per year for a year just because your house is new? The least I saw of the old ones was N500,000 and yet, I didn't like what I saw. Some friends on the Island when they heard I was complaining told me what they were paying for theirs and I screamed! Before now, Landlords take 2years rent but thank God for Fashola, at least now I have to only worry about paying for a year. Still, Something should be done to regulate rent to an extent in Lagos, Abuja and Port Harcourt.
Maybe I'm saying this because I'm seeing things from the perspective of a tenant. Let's see if my thoughts would change when I become a landlord... hahahaha

I just pray I find something good soon though... because, I can not wait to start working to make a difference in the industry I represent. In all, let God's will be done!
Some of my friends have been very kind to join in the search and I appreciate all of you. Much love to you!

These are my thoughts.

GA2R: HIT ME WITH 16

What's the right word with which one can describe these guys? Maybe you should help...
When I look at them, in my mind I think.. "their parents did a good job!" I heard they have a sister and she's single *clears throat* Ok... No comment!
The other day, my boss was telling me of this twin he knows; He said When one sneezes, the other one will sneeze. When one is ill, you know the other one is ill and even when one cries or laughs... well, you know what happens. I was like.. "that must be hard!"
These triplets are somewhat similar. Only that I haven't caught the three of them sneezing all at the same time... lol! but Remi “Mr Rah” Odufuye works with Ecobank, Kunmi “KUD-MC” Odufuye is with Zenith Bank and Tomi “Tomo” Odufuye works with Skyebank... Ok, I know what you are thinking... I thought so too! Rap is not the only thing they have in common! Maybe in the future they'll make a good superhero comic... I know I will!
So, HIT ME WITH 16! I asked why that title and Mr. Rah told me 16 bars make a rap verse. I was like.. really?! I'm not surprised how intelligent they all are though! He added, there are also 16 tracks on the album and of course our favorite Bible verse is John 3:16. So, I asked him why I should spend my hard earned money to buy this album and he said... "its the best there ever was, best that is and best there'll ever be... Every lover of music would love it and even those who don't like rap music, would love it!" I agree! I have been privileged to attend and perform in their monthly party "Nuttin but a G'thing" which takes place 6pm every last Friday @ Quezville Bar, 9 Akarigbere Close, off Idejo close, V.I, Lagos (same as eko gym). Not much of a rap music fan myself, but I love their style. Especially how they are able to infuse rap into various genres of music. We share same passion for quality music and perfection in ministry and I will definitely buy and advise everyone to buy as well.
I celebrate you my brothers, may your album get into every home and be a blessing! Keep up the good work... God will reward you!
And we all say....... Amen!

Funke Akindele takes JENIFA to the Americans

Undoubtedly, she has proven to be the best. I like her because we have a lot in common. She doesn't work with other people's standards in mind, she creates her own standard, works towards it and achieves it. Even after achieving it, she works even harder to beat her own record so you see her constantly in competition with herself since she is her only competition.
We've all watched this leading Nollywood actress grow from the days of the popular tv programme I USED TO KNOW she is the best actress in Africa. I remember being in an aircraft one day and the people seating behind me were just talking about the movie "Jenifa" I told myself, I must buy it! When I landed, I got too busy on my trip but I just couldn't avoid the buzz on the media, from conversations, etc. If I'm gisting with Timi Dakolo, he always answers "yels" lots of other friends also found bits of the movie with which they made themselves happy. Indeed that movie put smiles on the faces of millions of Nigerians within and outside the country. Finally, I drove to a shop and bought it. It was all yoruba but I laughed till I cried!
I travelled back to London with the cd but it didn't last a week because Friends took it. Well, from then I became a fan of all things Funke Akindele.
The other day I was chatting to Ibinabo Fiberesima and she was telling me Funke (Jenifa) has a heart of Gold... I agreed! It took my mind back to when I first met her. Hnmm! Let me leave that story for another time and get back to the main gist...
Jenifa is in America as we speak to promote and premiere The Return Of Jenifa (TROJ). Symphony Space, New York was first and on 11-09-11 the premiere will hold in California. Nigeria will see TROJ in October. This is one Nigerian movie I can't wait to see. It has a blend of actors, musicians, comedians, etc. Expect to see Eldee, Helen Paul, Kaffy, NaetoC, Wizkid, Sasha, Banky W, Omawunmi, Antar Laniyan, Rukky Sanda, Djzeez, Freeze (Cool fm), Denrele and of course Funke Akindele herself. I too should have been in that movie right?! Don't worry I'll be in the next one that will star Beyonce, Rihanna, Don Jazzy, Leonardo dicaprio, Denzel Washington, Halle Berry, Julia Roberts, Charles Granville, Prince William & Kate Middleton, Justin bieber, etc...lol As a gbogbo bigz boyz concerned! hahahahaaha!
Let us keep supporting our own. When the movie drops, wherever you are go look for it and buy 10copies because one may not be enough (especially if you have friends like mine).

Funke Akindele aka Jenifa, I am proud of you and I support you!

Ok... I HAVE A GIRLFRIEND!

This morning I was chatting with another Gospel Artist and brother on bbm. I saw his status and it occured to me that this brother is in love. I smiled as I teased him about his new found love (I pray he doesn't read this). He was shy about admitting he is in love! I was like... "bro, u need to show me a pic of this hot chic that has stolen your heart like this o!" And he was like... "I dunno what you are talking about... lol" Hnmmm!

OK... I HAVE A GIRLFRIEND! There is nothing to be shy about. Why are we so scared? We consider what people will say so we hide and date. The truth is that these days as in the days of old one needs to know the person you wish to spend the rest of your life with. You need to know if you can tolerate their excesses, if you can live with them, if you can reconcile easily after a disagreement... Yes! Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't wanna get married and find out when it is too late that we are not compatible.

Love is a beautiful thing; true love knows no fear; love covers a multitude of sin; by this shall all men know that you are christians... when we love each other; of all the commandments given to us by God, love is the greatest... why? Because God wants us to be like Him and God is LOVE! Love is not evil, it is good... Lust is evil. That you are able to love only means you have God in you. So, stop giving false impressions to people like we are stones without emotions or all that "holier than thou" attitude.

It is possible for us to have holy relationships void of lust and its expressions but it is not for children but for disciplined adults who are ready for marriage. I love my girl and I'm praying God will bless us through our courting period and make marriage a possibility in the nearest future and together we will worship him all our days.

These are my thoughts.

My Nomination For The National Gospel Awards

I am indeed grateful to God for this nomination. Best Male, Best Video, Best Song, that just makes me love God more! I do what I do to Glorify God alone. Never expected that one day I would be nominated to be honored like this.

Pastor Belemina Obunge encouraged me to sing and gave me the platform to express and improve my gifts, the likes of Panam Percy Paul made me want to sing and bring down God's Glory, Pastor Nkechi Williams-Onovwiona also noticed this gift and helped me express myself in worship to members of the Redeemed Christian Church of God before other churches started asking for me. I was only a teenager but God used and still uses me for His Glory, Praise and Worship.

I encourage all who have gifts or talents to use it for God's Glory for He is the rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. I also encourage Pastors and those in authority to keep supporting the young talents. Help us grow, help the Gospel Music Industry to grow. As we lift up Jesus, He will draw men unto Himself. As we open the heavens with our Praise, God's presence will come down with Blessings for His people. May God bless all Nigerian Gospel Artists indeed that all those of us who chose to go secular out of frustration would one day return and join us in His Praise - Amen
